Well, I hope it’s not really the end of the summer, just the end of the summer holidays. Although sitting here looking out the window, the waves are crashing over the pier and people have anoraks and wellies on! It’s been a lovely six weeks full of family, food, music, swimming, playing, laughing, sewing, crocheting, walking, reading, exploring, drawing, snorkelling and generally having fun. Here’s a round up of the last few days….
And finally….I accidenatlly painted my nails to match my sweetpeas. What a match!
It’s the Briport Hat Festival in a fornight www.bridporthatfest.org. The husband is wearing a 19th century safari pith helmet and uniform. I’m thinking of going for this cute little number…
Back from the hut and straight into a wedding anniversary commission papercut…
We were joined by the niephlings on our third day. Gala had come dressed as a pirate complete with an eye patch I crocheted for her and a compass!
Husband making supper by candlelight at the hut. Gorgeous leek and mushroom pasta! Yummy!

Sunset at the beach hut on Portland Bill
An early morning spent fossilling with the husband and an old friend.
I say finished – I ran out of wool eight inches from the end of my zig-zag border. Apple Green DK yarn spare anyone?!
It’s not really big enough for the bed, it’s for sitting under while I make other crochet blankets!
I finished the blanket at last…
My mum bought this dictionary at a summer fete for my niece. I want it!
