I’ve been lucky enough to have lots of free time over the last two weeks (the Easter hols)  and have spent the time doing lots of lovely creative colourful things.  First up – a pair of ‘New Home’ papercut cards for a friend.  This isn’t them finished, but I liked them as they were being worked on, with their positive and negative…

…next up… A pair of vintage cartoon fabric patchwork cushions.  Gala (who’s four) helped me make them.  She’s getting quite good on a sewing machine now she’s overcome the noise.  She’s everso good at straight lines.  We made the Tom and Jerry one for Baby Arthur, and the Scooby Doo one for Gala…

…I felt the urge to fill the house with flowers…doesn’t everything seem better when there are fresh flowers everywhere…

…I made use of the light box at last…It’s been acting as a wonderful source of light in our sleepy-summer fireplace, but I finally got round to finishing the dolls I’ve been working on.  They’ll be available soon in fabric kits, but for now, here’s ‘Hebe’ being worked on…

…I was so thrilled to receive a commission from New York!  The thought that someone in New York (New York!)  found my little site, and picked little old me to make their parents’ Golden Wedding anniversary present is just wow!

My wonderful neighbour came round to talk crochet.  We use very different pallettes and I love the soft muted tones she uses…

We’ve spent a lot of time this holiday watching Puss in Boots.  We went to the cinema to see it when it first came out and have now watched it too many times on DVD.  Anyway.  I came home one day to find I have my very own Puss on Boots.  I think it should be Bobo on BooBoots

I spent a very happy solitary afternoon spring-cleaning (is it “I spring-cleaned”, “I sprang-cleaned” or “I sprung-cleaned”?) our living room.  We are lucky to have such a lovely room to live in and it feels so good to get it looking its best…

…I especially like all the blankets together – they look so snuggly and inviting…(excuse the cat hairs)…

…of course their favourite is the one on the bed…

It wasn’t all the fun fun fun of making things though.  I did some organising too.  I organised my studio by making some fun drawing pin numbers to help me prioritise my orders.  Maybe it was all the fun fun fun of making things after all…

…and then finally – do you remember those little squares that were just waiting to get sewn together?  Well it turns out they were right!  This quilt is going to a little baby in Guernsey and I hope she (and her mummy) love it!  I just think these colours and patterns look perfect together.  I may have to make a big version for me…

That’s all for now.  Hope to see you soon, Joey x
