You’ve got to admire the British holiday spirit.  As this huge storm approached across Lyme Bay yesterday afternoon not an eyelid was batted.  First we couldn’t see Lyme, then we couldn’t see Charmouth, then we couldn’t see the cliffs and then it was torrential.  Apart from a little group huddled under a boat, everyone else just carried on as if it was a balmy afternoon.  Stanley and I watched snuggly (and smugly) from the comfort of the armchair…

Well, having been away for nearly two weeks, my camera is bursting with sunshine and colour and in my enthusiasm to share, I couldn’t choose, so here’s a very random selection of the last two weeks…

Right everyone, I really need some crochet help.  A little while ago I started making the Fiesta Siesta Blanket.  I had it in my head how wonderful it was going to be and made lots of two coloured circles that look like this…

I then added two layers of cream round the edge of each one so now I have lots of circles that look like this..

I then added the third layer which is a lovely purpley heather 12 pointed star so now I have circles that look like this…

Isn’t it scrummy – look at them all together…

But here’s where the problem starts and where I need the help.  What now?!  I imagined the purple stars sitting in white hexagons all joined together but I can’t work out how to do this bit…

…how to get the star sitting neatly in its little white hexagon.  I’ve made it and unravelled it all day and not got it right yet.  Any suggestions?

So … the first trip to the hut was with the husband and was a lazy loungy time with lots of reading, snoozing and scrabble playing.  The second trip was made last week and was with the niephlings.  It involved swimming, rock pooling, paddling, playing and running around chasing things.  It was heaps and heaps of fun and sooooooooooo hot!  It was hats and parasols all round…
