Monthly Archives: November 2012

Firstly, apologies for my absence on the blog front, but I have been mega busy following a rather exciting phone call last week.  After my feature appeared in Good Homes magazine, another interiors magazine got in touch asking to do a photo shoot of me and my house!  How exciting!  I can’t tell you which magazine as it’s not featuring until the March issue, but it was so fun!  Look at the massive lamp that was put up in my studio…I didn’t manage to get any photos of the day itself as it was all so hectic – a stylist, interviewer and photographer were here all day, but I took some after they’d gone.  I don’t know how long the house can stay this tidy for so I thought I’d better capture it while it lasted.  My favourite little update was painting the inside of my letterpress drawers.  I have so many little bits and bobs that end up in the trays including my little collection of heart shaped stones, physically impaired tin figures, old chess pieces and cracker toys…

…and the rest of the house got a huge tidy up and tweak.  The photos I took aren’t great as it was after dark by the time it was all over and I literally CANNOT wait to see the results!

It was well worth getting up a bit earlier than usual this morning to find it frosty and crispy around the bay.  There was mist floating over the sea and some amazing reflections…

Last night, instead of going to watch fireworks or a bonfire, we headed off, on the most beautiful clear still sparkling night, to Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, which is just down the road to see the floodlit gardens which they do every autumn.  It really was quite magical.  You follow the path of hanging tealight lanterns which light the way and every corner reveals an even lovelier dramatic view.  They even floodlight St Catherine’s Chapel in the distance which you catch a glimpse of through the foliage.  And they have a lovely wrap-around verandah with coloured twinkle lights.  We were too late for a hot chocolate though, they were just closing up, so we headed back home for supper.  We did manage to catch some fireworks though and stopped in a layby to watch them across the fields.  Apologies for the blurry photo, but I couldn’t resist the heart shaped exploding rocket….

I know I’m pleased with my baubles and angels, but I’ve got to say I’m pretty pleased with the packaging I’ve made too!  I’ve spent a very happy day packing up lovely Christmas things ready for their new homes…

I’ve got my Baubles and Angels all packed up and ready to go and I think they look amazing… now available in my Folksy Shop...
