Monthly Archives: January 2013

Amongst all this snow and fun I have managed to get some work done although it was all white too, until some pink and green and gold was added.  It looked like some much needed sunshine!

…but we did get out in the snow again too.  Of course.

We still have no snow whatsoever in West Bay, but there is still loads and loads a few miles inland.  We went for a blindingly white snowy walk this morning in the lovely countryside just North East of Beaminster, it was just idyllic…

…and yes, the husband does know his hat matches his beard.

Wahooo!  We had snow at last!  Well, not actually actually.  We had rain.  Heavy rain.  All night.  But 2 miles up the road in Bridport, they had snow!  Well, not actually actual snow.  Sort of white lumpy rain really.  But, another 5 miles up the road, nearly in Beaminster, they actually actually did have snow!  It was proper pretty and proper fun.  I haven’t removed any colour or ‘black and whited’ any of the photos, it really was just like that, just completely colourless.  And still snowing in big fat chunky flakes.  And then home for hot chocolate and toasted tea cakes in front of the fire.  I hope you spent your snowy day doing what you wanted, whether that’s running around like a loon outside, or snunkering down with blankets in doors.  Either way, have fun!

There’s snow in them thar hills

There's snow in them thar hills

I know it’s a long way off, but it’s getting closer. Come on snow!!!!!

At laaaasssstt…..the sun has come along.   What a beautiful day, deep blue sky, crispy air, hazy sunshine, misty sea and just beautiful colours.  I made the most of the light to photograph some bunting and more of my new cushions I’ve been working on.  The pink orchid seems to have a fiery dragonny phoenix thing flying out of it, and Stanley just enjoyed sitting in the sun and watching the boats…

Firstly, something that hardly ever happens…Stanley and Bobo snuggling together on the big crochet blanket…

…and then – oh how exciting!  My house is being featured in next month’s Style at Home Magazine and in this month’s there’s a little preview and there’s my bedroom!!!!!  Right there!  In a proper shiny magazine!  The very same bed and blanket as Bobo and Stanley are on up there!  I literally could not be more excited and just can not WAIT a month to see the whole article.

Today has been a grey and drizzly day outside and a bright and sunny day inside.  I spent the morning doing a lovely papercut commission with a funky little rainbow zooming across it and fluffy little white clouds and buzzy little bees and pointy little flowers…

I’m also still totally in love with our new coffee machine, can’t believe it took me until this age to get one, and love love love the cute little French cups I got to go with it…

I’m so excited about 2013!  I’ve got heaps and heaps of new ideas and products in the pipeline that I can’t wait to show you!  Most of them are still in the development stage, but some are already finished and ready for the shops, starting with my fabulous cushion!  I really do love a cushion, and I mean LOVE a cushion.  You really can’t have enough so why not have one that’s fun as well!  My new cushions will bring a touch of colour and humour to your sofa, bed or anywhere you fancy….

It seems literally about 3 days ago that we were putting up the tree and settling down to watch White Christmas but of course today it all had to come down again.  We hadn’t watered it quite as much as we should and within 10 seconds I was looking like a porcupine.  I just love the colour and textures of all the baubles together.  It’s such a shame for them only to be seen once a year.  I’m thinking of starting a corner of the house where they can be up all of the time.  The cats would love it and so would I.  In the mean time, why is Stanley looking quite so jolly pleased with himself?  Because he’s bagged the big basket full of blankets and crochet…
