I’m so sorry to have been ever so quiet on the blogging front recently, but to say I’ve been a busy bee is an understatement.  I’ve been sewing sewing sewing and more sewing and not had time for much else, but look at what I made!  I’m so pleased with these little things.  The little chap is called Jacques.  He’s part French Sailor, part Gondalier and part Matador.  He really is adorable, and a bit BIGGER than I intended – he’s about 2 feet tall and very cuddly and fun.  He has a hairy little chest, a flabby little tummy and gorgeous little espadrilles.

The little dress is reversible (I do love a reversible anything) and is pompoms ahoy!  It’s dingly and dangly and just so cute and perfect I wish it was my size.

And finally, the skirt.  I’ll take a better picture of it in context, but I just wanted to show you the flowery applique on the front.  I wanted it to be bold, folky and mid-century feeling.  I’m very very pleased with it…

Ooh la la monsieur… Say hello to Claude. Boy doll two of my prototypes. He’s nowhere near finished – his legs are too short, his arms are too beefy, his body is too long. But his face and tattoos are amazing…

Well, seeing as everybody seems to be having boy babies at the moment I thought I’d better make some boy toys for them too.  This moustachioed chap is in the very early stages at the moment, but I’m loving his little face and funky little tie…

I’ve been playing with some new ideas recently and making some fabric Dollies.  I’ve already had my lovely little girlie dollies printed up and they’re gorgeous and lovely and happy and jolly and cute.  But I thought it’d be fun to make some bigger ones too – and use up some of my vintage fabric stash.  I’ve made two so far – both quite different from each other and opinion is very divided about which is favourite.  The first one, the smaller one with the black bobbed hair, is wearing adorable purple knickers and has a really cute reversible dress on – I do so love reversible things!  And the second one, with the brown bunches is just fun!  She’s kind of odd looking which is why I like her, but there are still some adjustments to be made.  I think her limbs are a bit too gangly, and her bunches need a bit of work – but she’s definitely my fave.  Which is yours?

Oh my I’m so excited!  You may remember a while ago I showed you a sneaky preview of some lovely little dollies I designed.  Well, they’re ready!  Here they are, the first four…

Aren’t they pretty!  And what fun they look like they’re going to have.  Which is your fave?

A very small first preliminary glimpse into how amazing my dolls are going to be when they’re finished.  I’m going to design a range of different characters which will be available to buy shortly as kits.  Here’s the first one – named in honour of the original Cecily…
